Wildlife Photographer of the Year contest always brings us some stunning photos, and the 2018 contest was no exception. The winners from 19 categories were selected and their photos show the beauty, versatility and sometimes harsh reality of the world around us. Dutch photographer Marsel van Oosten won the overall Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2018 title. The winning photo titled “The Golden Couple” frames a pair of golden snub-nosed monkeys....

Do you have big ideas for photoshoots and get that sinking feeling when you realise they are just too big, too messy or too complicated to do in your regular space? Well if so, you’re not alone. This pair of photographers found a solution and built their own water studio in their backyard. Jada and David had the idea to create a sinking submarine. Obviously, they didn’t want to actually risk flooding their usual studio, so off they went to buy a baby paddling pool to house the set inside it....

So, just how bright is a 1,000 Watt stadium LED light? Well, Matt Perks wanted to find out, so he got one. And, as it turns out, it’s pretty bright. It’s not every day you get to see something like this up close and personal, and it’s interesting to see how a massive powerful light like this is constructed. Unlike Matt’s previous video on the 500 Watt LED, this 1,000 Watt panel is made from 120 individual LEDs, each with their own lenses to help direct the light forward....

Getting a decent photograph of the sun which shows the incredible level of normally invisible detail of its surface is extremely difficult. Shooting a whole mess of them over the course of 10 hours and turn them into a cohesive timelapse is downright impossible for most of us. But for astrophotographer Deddy Dayag, it’s a passion he’s been pursuing for a while now. Deddy regularly posts his new work to YouTube and the results are just gorgeous....

There are more people creating video content now than ever before. This means there are also a lot of people creating bad videos than ever before, too. Many of them aren’t really bad videos, as such. They just often have really crappy sound. Newcomers to video often think that they can rely on the internal microphones of their mirrorless cameras or smartphones, but you really can’t.
