There is hardly anyone who hasn’t heard of Pirelli. Even us who can’t drive have heard of this tire brand – thanks to their famous calendar. The company dates back to 1872, but the calendar was created in 1962. The sales had dropped, and they needed something to boost it. At that time, sexy girlie calendars were very popular among car manufacturers and mechanics. So Pirelli decided to create a calendar with semi-undressed women, but to raise it on a higher level....

A few weeks back we held a fun contest revolving around editing a photo. We started out with a photo by Dave K. This morning, I received an email from 500px requiring that I change my password after they became aware of a “security issue” on the site on Friday 8th February. This might sound like 500px is jumping on the issue quickly, however, the breach actually happened way back on July 5th, 2018. After detecting the breach, 500px says that they “immediately launched a comprehensive review of our systems” to figure out exactly what happened and what the impact was....

Pentax Pixel Shift is a fantastic feature when it comes to boosting the dynamic range, increase the level of detail and reduce the noise in an image. Many product photographers employ this feature for increased detail, but it can also yield great results for landscape photography. That said, the technology still faces some challenges when there is motion in a scene. Now, Lightroom can handle Pixel Shift images, but it’s really lost even with the slightest blur....
