Understandably, I was very excited to hear the news of Fujifilm bringing back NEOPAN 100 ACROS in the form of ACROS II earlier this year. So, when a second announcement came with details of a November 22nd Japanese release date, I started making calls to see if I could buy some. Remember the rumored DJI action camera that recently leaked online? It’s real and it has just been announced. DJI has launched Osmo Action, the company’s first action camera, and it could make quite a change in the small camera market. DJI in a way already announced the Osmo Action six days ago, or better to say, teased it. But since now it’s out, we know the specs and the features it offers....
DJI have updated their Osmo handheld gimbal camera to provide up to 7x zoom capabilities. Like the recently announced Zenmuse Z3 zoom camera for the Inspire 1, it’s actually a 3.5x optical zoom. On top of this is a 2x “digital lossless zoom”. Technically the “digital zoom” is really a crop mode, and is only available when shooting 1080p. You get a field of view equivalent to a 22-77mm focal range on a full frame camera....
After recently introducing their first drone camera with optical zoom, the Zenmuse Z3, DJI have now announced the Zenmuse Z30. This camera features a 30x optical zoom, a major improvement over the 3.5x optical zoom of the Z3. Designed primarily for commercial applications, DJI see this camera being used for inspecting wind turbines and cell towers. DJI is taking a square aim at commercial drone market rather than hobbyists or filmmakers....
