I’ve always loved the concept of instant film like Polaroids or Fuji Instax, but never it’s really interested me enough to buy into it. But then I discovered the NONS SL42, which might finally win me over. It’s an M42 mount SLR that uses Fuji Instax Mini instant film to let you create instant prints with real lenses. It’s currently funding through Kickstarter, and it’s an intriguing looking bit of kit....

This looks like a pretty interesting little camera, although I have to say, given its shape, I’m a little disappointed it’s not 360°. It’s being funded through Kickstarter, and has already smashed way past its $50,000 goal, currently sitting at almost $300K with 29 days still to go. The PITTA is spherical in design but comes apart into two pieces to attach “modules”. The action camera module contains 1/4-20″ socket for mounting to tripods, selfie sticks and gimbals....
Since 1932, vaunted Swiss watchmaker Omega has served as Official Timekeeper at the Olympic Games 26 times. This year at the Rio Olympics, Omega is once again providing finish line cameras to provide officials and the public with the most precise view of the athletes. The current generation of cameras, dubbed the Scan ‘O’ Vision debuted at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. The current version, Myria, is now capable of taking 10,000 scans per second; a dramatic improvement from 2,000 sps at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics....
