When Apple introduced a new security feature in iOS 14, I wondered if Android users would also get a feature that reveals if their camera is spying on them. Well, there’s an app for that. Access Dots is an Android app that lets you know if any of your apps accesses your camera and microphone without your knowledge. To remind you, users who updated their iPhone’s OS to iOS 14 now see a small dot in the top right corner of the phone’s display....

Most of Apple’s ads over the years tend to be a dig at a competitor. Most notably, PCs. But over the last few years, Apple’s been on the receiving end of other companies ads taking jabs at them, particularly from Samsung. So, they changed tactics to try and tell stories, especially with their Christmas adverts. And while this is still just an advertisement, Apple’s 2018 Christmas ad, Share Your Gifts, tells a great story....

After Sony and Canon pulling out of NAB 2021, the show has now officially been canceled. The show was scheduled for 9-13 October 2021. But unfortunately, the everlasting coronavirus pandemic has prevented NAB from taking place at all. In the announcement, NAB writes: I will remind you that NAB was also canceled last year, which was no surprise at all. However, this year we were hoping to start connecting and meeting at trade shows in person again....

If there’s one thing that many of us would love to be able to do, it’s attaching a fully stabilised gimbal camera to a vehicle. It lets you get shots that would otherwise be impossible. But such a task is not cheap. Commercial rigs cost $20,000 or more and that doesn’t even include the cost of the actual gimbal. Bestboy Adam, though, has come up with a pretty neat DIY solution in this video that you can put together yourself for as little as $500, including the gimbal, using a mix of items from various manufacturers to which you can attach your DJI RS2 gimbal (or probably any, with the right brackets) to get that nice clean stabilised driving footage....
