Photos of rock stacks adorn our Instagram feeds. There are videos of them being created in elaborate styles. Sometimes they defy gravity with anything from pebbles to boulders in their formations. These eye-catching photos are usually framed against stunning natural backdrops and have a calm and tranquil quality to them. There’s a darker side to these stacks, though. Two of them actually. So much so, that researchers are warning against making them....

Photography. It’s expensive. And who really has the money to buy all the name brand photo gear? I certainly don’t. It turns out that May is National Photography Month and to celebrate, Canon USA have revealed a few current consumer trends in the world of photography. Consumers are showing more confidence behind the camera than ever, claiming that 80% of them rate their photography skills as “good to excellent”. It certainly goes some way towards explaining why the general public tend to undervalue professional photographers. As more and more images are being uploaded to social media, the desire to capture, share and save memories is clearly on the rise with 24% of consumers saying that they shoot up to around 300 photos per month....

A new patent just surfaced from the Google-owned fitness tracker OEM Fitbit. The company filed this back in 2020, but it finally surfaced just today. While there aren’t any images that come along with the patent, we know what the watch will do. How will this Fitbit tracker reduce stress? How will this Fitbit tracker reduce stress? If you’re hoping for a device that will magically reduce your stress with the press of a button, you might want to wait a little bit longer on that....

No matter what brand of camera you shoot or which company you support, Nikon’s Z6 & Z7 announcements yesterday is basically Nikon admitting “Yes, ok, the mirrorless revolution is here”. It signals a great turning point in photography. Yes, mirrorless has been around for a while, but with Nikon and Canon, really the only two “old guard” camera companies left, and with both either having announced or getting ready to announce mirrorless cameras, it kind of makes it official – in a relationship status “Facebook official” sort of way....
