Recently, Nikon announced that they were going to be releasing a beta of their new “Webcam Utility Software” that allows certain Nikon DSLRs and Z mirrorless cameras to act as webcams when connected to a computer without any type of capture device. All you need is a USB cable. Well, Nikon has now finally released that software. Well, a beta of it. It’s compatible with all of the Nikon Z mirrorless cameras (including the new Nikon Z5) as well as some of their recent DSLRs including the Nikon D6, D850, D780, D500, D7500 and D5600....

As seems to be the trend, Panasonic has jumped on the bandwagon of letting you use your mirrorless camera as a webcam over USB. Sort of. Whereas most manufacturers like Canon, Sigma and Fuji let your computer detect your camera as an actual USB webcam device, Panasonic’s solution… Well, it works, but it’s pretty clunky. Instead of simply showing up as a capture device, like the others, Panasonic’s solution basically sends a live view stream to their desktop app (for Windows only)....

Ok, you can stop speculating and guessing now. Panasonic has finally officially announced the new Panasonic Lumix GH6 Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera. Rather than a slight refresh like the Panasonic GH5 Mark II, the GH6 presents a pretty major upgrade over the GH5 for those that need it, with a new 25.2-megapixel sensor, 7.5 stops of IBIS and 5.7K video at up to 60 frames per second. It comes five years after the release of the Panasonic Lumix GH5 and it represented a significant step up in Panasonic’s video capabilities over its predecessor....
