With the flood of new mirrorless cameras on the market offering 10-bit video, and those expected in the new year, it looks like Sony is taking no prisoners. Sony Alpha Rumors is reporting that Sony is about to announce two 36-megapixel and 60-megapixel sensors capable of shooting 8K video at up to 6o frames per second. And they may even offer 16-bit RAW stills. According to SAR’s source, which they say has been 100% correct in previous information shares, the specs for the two sensors are very impressive....
Last year, Olympus Singapore loaned me a pre-launch unit of their new STF-8 Twin Macro Flash, together with their OMD-EM1 Mk1 and M.Zuiko Digital ED 60mm f/2.8 Macro for a test-run in the field. I’ve had the set for about a week — it was easy to use and the results were pretty good, although it took some time for me to get used to focusing using the LCD. Many Windows based video users have been concerned lately regarding security flaws which led Apple to pull all support for Quicktime for Windows, with the Federal Government going so far as recommending that Windows users completely remove it from their system. Adobe have today announced a response to this issue, declaring that they are adding native support for ProRes into their products. That Adobe have responded so quickly tells me that they’ve probably had this in the works for a while....
