The golden ratio isn’t really something I think about much, or at all, when composing a photograph. But if it’s something you’ve wanted to start applying more to your compositions, then now you can do so with this handy dandy new pocket sized golden ratio view finder from Areaware. Dating back to Euclid’s Elements over 2,300 years ago, it’s been a go-to aesthetic guide for many designers and artists. It’s also been suggested that it was followed during the construction of the Parthenon in Greece, but that’s a whole different debate....

TCL’s new TV lineup for 2022 includes 4K LED televisions plus Mini LED models, which carry a higher price tag. At least a few of these TVs could appear in the U.S., though they’re limited to Europe. TCL didn’t reveal the pricing tiers for these newly unveiled televisions. Starting with the entry-level 4K models, the TCL P63 and P73 series are available in sizes ranging from 45 to 85-inches. All models in the lineup support Dolby Vision by default....

Police in Wales recently arrested a drug dealer thanks to fingerprints taken from a WhatsApp photo. The snapshot shows only a part of the man’s palm, but it was apparently enough to lead to the suspect and secure 11 convictions. According to the reports, this is the first time that Welsh police made convictions based on the fingerprints taken from a photo. Dave Thomas of Welsh police described the technique as “groundbreaking,” even though fingerprinting has been used for decades....

But the surprising part is, there won’t be any discounts on either model yet. So the Galaxy Note 20 is still priced at $999 and the Note 20 Ultra at $1,199. Which makes it a tough sell, when the Galaxy S21+ and S21 Ultra are cheaper and often times discounted even lower. Not to mention the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is going to be $999 as well. The only real reason to get the Galaxy Note 20 would be the S-Pen without a case....

The OnePlus 10 Pro, launched in China back in January today sees its official global release. It boasts the second-generation Hasselblad Camera for Mobile, with the first having previously come in the OnePlus 9 Pro – part of Hasselblad’s 3-year deal with OnePlus that was announced in March of last year. It also features a 120Hz display with Dual Color Calibration (a first in smartphones) and “super-fast” charging. The camera module retains essentially the same specifications (sensor size, resolution, etc) as its OnePlus 9 Pro predecessor, although it is a redesigned module able to shoot in full 10-bit colour, 125% sRGB coverage capture, and you can shoot 12-bit raw on all three rear cameras....
