Facebook’s takeover of Instagram becomes more apparent by the day. We’ve seen ads, selective algorithm driven feeds, business pages and other features. Some good, some bad. Now, we get online shopping, too. We already have ads popping up in our feeds as we browse. Now we’ll start seeing them inside the posts themselves. Facebook’s own “marketplace” seems to have completely taken control over the iOS app. I’m constantly being told about tat that people have for sale in various groups with no way to shut it off....

Well, Sigma has now officially announced their new Sigma fp L mirrorless camera and… Well, it’s a bit meh, really. Sure, it has a shiny new 61-megapixel backside illuminated sensor, but it’s not the rumoured new colour filter array. It’s just a regular Bayer sensor. And like the Sigma fp, there’s still no mechanical shutter and no IBIS. It does retain the same form factor as the original Sigma fp, though, so fp owners looking to upgrade to the fp L should be able to retain any of their current SmallRig cages and other bits designed for the fp....

The rear camera setup seems to fit the previous image, though. The sides of this phone will be mostly flat, and the same goes for the top and bottom portions In fact, these renders seem to suggest that the display will be quite pronounced, as you can see in the image below....

Sony’s report for the 2018 fiscal year is out, and amongst all of the usual mundane facts and figures is one particularly interesting piece of information. It seems that Sony’s share of the interchangeable lens camera market has now surpassed that of Nikon to claim the number 2 spot behind Canon. Sony is reporting it has 23 per cent of the global interchangeable lens camera market based on revenue, and 24% of the camera market overall, an increase of four percent compared to the 2017 fiscal year....
