If your gear’s weather sealed, you might be ok just as you are, but if you shoot Sony you’ll probably want to cover up a little. There are, of course, actual rain covers available for cameras, but sometimes you need to respond quick. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I love the ideas people come up with in isolation. Video director Valentina Vee is staying at home with her roommate Elizabeth, who recently had her birthday. Since they can’t throw a party, they threw the next best thing – a photo shoot. Valentina shot an epic “quarantine birthday” portrait of Elizabeth and turned it into a cinemagraph. She also shared a BTS video, and it looks like they had tons of fun....

Go to Preferences > Technology Previews and check the Paint Symmetry. You’ll see a little butterfly icon appear in the toolbar. When you create a new document and click on the butterfly icon, choose “Vertical” you can paint symmetrically. It’s similar to those watercolor symmetry projects we did as kids....

Every year, on the cusp of true, Rocky Mountain summer, I travel to the high country to photograph butterflies. For a brief couple of weeks, during the height of the alpine meadow bloom, when lupine and mallows turn acres of open space to blue and pink, Montana’s butterflies make the most of their short season. This year, I test drove Nikon’s flagship dx camera, the D500. I ran it with Nikon’s 300mm f4 PF VR and the TC-14E III, giving me a whopping 630mm of reach, hoping to bring these colorful insects up close and personal and preserve more depth of field than when shooting with my 200mm Micro Nikkor, my usually choice for butterflies....

Just a few short years ago, nobody had ever heard the name Insta360. Established in 2014, they’re now one of the first names many people turn to when it comes to 360° cameras. And they’re constantly pushing themselves with bigger and better. Now, at CES 2019, Insta360 has announced the new Insta360 Titan, which shoots 11K 360 video footage. The new Titan contains eight Micro Four Thirds sensors and is capable of shooting 11K footage at 30 frames per second, or you can take a slight drop in resolution for 3D, which is 10K at 30 frames per second....
