Recreating a 17th century painting in the 21st century by using only stock photos would be an interesting project under any circumstances. But doing this with “The Concert” is a more than just interesting. First, it is one of the iconic paintings of Johannes Vermeer, a Dutch painter most people know by “Girl with a Pearl Earring”. And second, the story behind this painting is quite mysterious, since it went missing and it has never been found....

So, I was thrilled to learn that the travel photography blog Capture the Atlas ran another competition for the best Milky Way photo of the year. The results have just been published, and it seems that the top images get better and better every year. Dan Zafra of Capture the Atlas shared some of the winning photos with us, so let us feast our eyes together on these fantastic images....

Ever since Sony announced the Sony A9, people have been quite vocal about their wishlists for A7 series replacements. We’ve seen two of those appear, already. The A7R III with its massive 42.4 megapixel resolution, and the insane (for its price) Sony A7 III, with fantastic low light performance and crazy fast autofocus. But not much has been said about the Sony A7S III. People have been asking for it, and they know what they want to see in it, too....

According to Equal Leaks on Telegram, MediaTek’s next-gen flagship SoC will be based on a 3nm process node. This is an expected generational upgrade considering all current flagship chipsets, including the Dimensity 9000, use the 4nm architecture. Taiwanese chip giant TSMC will reportedly manufacture the upcoming MediaTek chipset. Compared to the previous generation SoCs, i.e. those based on 5nm processes, TSMC’s 3nm chipsets will have 1.7 times higher logic density and will bring about an 11 percent improvement in performance....

Fuji’s mirrorless lineup has been around for long enough now that the lens lineup is pretty well fleshed out. Despite the lack of 3rd party manufacturers (although Sigma’s rumoured to be working on it), Fuji’s managed to do quite well on its own to meet the needs of their customers. But there are some gaps. Fuji only has one super-telephoto zoom (the XF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6) and no really long primes. According to a report on FujiRumors, though, it seems that Fuji’s working on another long super-telephoto zoom, that’ll offer a focal length range of 150-500mm....
