Whether it’s taking more walks or getting back to work in the office. A smartwatch appears to be on the minds of consumers more often this past quarter than in quite a while. Naturally, not as many people are in lockdown globally. So it would stand to reason that more people have a reason to want such a device. Strategy Analytics reports that shipments of smartwatches have risen globally a lot in Q2 2021....
Well, it was bound to happen, wasn’t it? Nikon has been slacking on the mirrorless front and Nikkei now reports that they are projected to take 3rd place behind Sony in camera sales for this fiscal year. In a year where Nikon is set to record their first loss, at around $92 million (way down from their initial projections of $110 million profit), this isn’t good news for the company....
As part of that report, Henderson also mentioned that Sony would be revealing some new hardware in the near future. It seems that new hardware is a trio of headphones and two monitors. The headphones and the monitors are said to be “perfect for PS5,” and come with multiple gaming-centric features. For the monitors, the most notable features are the high refresh rates and the two different resolution options. One is said to come with a 1080p display but offer a 240Hz refresh rate....
Extreme low light performance isn’t a new thing. We’ve been able to pretty much see in the dark since Nikon launched the D3s. But, now that the megapixel wars seem to be mostly over, it’s the next big metric in camera performance. Who has the highest ISO? Who does it with the least amount of noise? The most amount of detail? The best colour? Sony’s E mount shooters have enjoyed extremely good ISO performance with the A7R II for a little while now....
