A new Instagram scam seems to be going around, and it’s pretty serious. It’s a good old phishing scam, designed to look just like a message from Instagram. But the scammers behind it will hijack your account and ask for money to give it back to you – and it goes up to $40,000. The scam is targeting accounts with a high follower count, many influencers being among them. So, if you, like me, have 200-ish people following you, you’re most likely safe....

Adobe has just announced their May 2021 update for Adobe’s Creative Cloud, including new features for both Adobe Audition and Adobe Premiere Pro. Audition now sees native Apple M1 support, with improved performance for recording and mixing and a couple of very handy new features for stripping silence and monitoring loudness. Premiere Pro also sees a new Loudness Meter for audio, refinements to the captions workflow, DirectX 12 support on Windows, and performance enhancements for Canon XF HEVC video file, amongst other new updates....

Adobe Photoshop Camera was launched as a preview way back in November last year. And now, it’s finally out. It packs a bunch of AI features using Adobe Sensei, the same technology that you’ll see in Photoshop CC. And unlike most Adobe products, this one is completely free to download and use. Hooking a sensor up to your phone isn’t an entirely new concept. Sony tried something similar a while ago and then gave up. Chinese manufacturer Yongnuo has also had a go at this idea although that one never seems to have actually been released. Now, it’s the turn of British company photogram.ai with the Alice Camera – a Micro Four Thirds sensor and mount that you slot your phone into. It’s billed as an “AI-acceleraated computational camera” built from scratch specifically for content creators....

With the recent release of the Leica’s new M10 I noticed an interesting commonality amongst the reviews. Almost all of them tested the camera in sunny, dry, or interior environments. Now I understand that Leica’s are expensive cameras and that reviewers and owners may not want to risk their equipment, but it strikes me that it might be worth knowing what kind of abuse these cameras can take given the high price they command....
