I don’t often usually agree with everything Tony Northrup says, and this video isn’t much different. I don’t agree with all of the opinions he puts forward in this video, but he does actually makes a few valid points. The topic is mirrorless camera myths and it’s filled with fallacies often touted on social media that are just complete nonsense. Some of the myths surrounding mirrorless cameras are just simply untrue – like mirrorless cameras being inherently sharper than DSLRs....

It’s no secret that the past year has been difficult for Nikon. We’ve mainly heard about their financial troubles, layoffs, gear delays, and most recently about the killing of the DX lineup. On the other hand, the company’s been pretty quiet when it comes to new announcements. However, the company has now spoken, convincing fans that there’s plenty of new gear coming up. As far as the new announcements go, Nikon only announced the development of the Z9 camera earlier this year....

It’s not much of a surprise that the compact camera market is getting a little more “compact”. It’s been coming for years. Global compact camera sales are down to less than a tenth of their peak. And it’s all thanks to smartphones. The cameras we carry with us all day, every day. While smartphones aren’t killing DSLR sales, the opposite, in fact, they are destroying compacts. The Nikkei reports that Nikon are now closing one of their factories in China....

We’re not sure why OnePlus is going for that change, nor has the change been confirmed just yet. It seems like the company will stick to one flagship strategy, though. The OnePlus 10 Pro also launched as a solo device in January 2022. The OnePlus 10T arrived in the second half of the year. Having said that, the OnePlus 11 is shaping up to be an interesting smartphone, so let’s see what can we expect out of it....
