Currently on display at CES 2018 is the new Removu K1 4K handheld gimbal. Similar in style to the DJI Osmo, with a built-in camera instead of stabilizing your phone or a DSLR, the K1 has one distinct advantage. It features a built-in 1.5″ LCD monitor to show you what that camera’s actually seeing. Originally backed through Indiegogo, the Removu K1 is now on general sale. While this size of LCD certainly isn’t going to compete with your phone, it’s not that different from those typically found in action cameras....

I find landscape photography to be a fun but challenging subject. I just often feel let down that the image just doesn’t do justice to the location. Part of the problem I think is that I don’t think a photograph ever can ever really compete with the experience of actually being there. Although, it may just be that I’m just not destined to be a landscape photographer. Photographer Craig Roberts, on the other hand, likes shooting landscapes....

The Smithsonian Institution has released an online gallery of 2.8 million images with more to come. The massive collection includes images and data from across the Smithsonian’s 19 museums, along with nine research centers, libraries, archives, and the National Zoo. And the best of all is: all photos are copyright-free and available for you to download and use. Smithsonian Magazine writes that the aim of its Open Access platform isn’t just for the viewers to view its contents....
