Well, it looks like the Nikon D850 is a big hit, if the pre-order is anything to go by. Nikon have actually sold out of all of their pre-order stock, and have issued a notice apologising for expected shipping delays. I suppose it’s not really much of a surprise that demand for the D850 is somewhat overwhelming. Once the final specs were made public, and the first reviews out, there were a lot of happy people out there....

Back in April when Nikon announced the Nikon Z9 firmware update (don’t install it, there’s a newer one), they also teased the development of a new product. But not just a new product, an entirely new type of product. For Nikon, at least. It was the Nikon MC-N10 Remote Grip for use with Nikon Z mirrorless cameras. Essentially, it was a duplicate of the handgrip of the camera for remote operation....

A new, huge lens has joined the Nikon family. NIKKOR 180-400mm f/4E TC1.4 FL ED VR is a super-telephoto lens with a built-in 1.4x teleconverter. It lets you extend the focal length from 180-400mm to 252-560mm on full-frame cameras. Used with crop bodies, that’s the equivalent field of view to full frame 378-840mm with the teleconverter activated. The lens seems to be designed with sports and wildlife photographers in mind. It has plenty of great features, and they come with a price tag of nearly $12,400....

It’s been a while since we heard anything about the hypothetical Nikon Z30 – an entry-level camera in Nikon’s Z mirrorless lineup to replace the popular Nikon D3x00 series DSLRs. In fact, it’s been over a year, with the N2016 code – presumed to be the Z30 at the time but turned out to be the Z fc (thanks enchalta!) – being discovered in April of 2021. It was expected that the Z30 would be announced last May, but that date has long since passed....

It’s not quite official, but almost. Nokishita has posted a couple of Nikon Z50 promotional images to Twitter ahead of an official announcement from Nikon. When images like these leak, an actual announcement is almost certainly within a few days away. Nokishita leaked a not great Z50 photo earlier along with the new 16-50mm APS-C Z mount lens, although it did show something of the camera’s form, which isn’t all that different from the “Z1” photo which got out several months ago....
