The sun’s well and truly back, and we want to get out exploring with our cameras. To do this, especially if we want to shoot any long exposures or video, we often need a tripod. But they can be big, heavy, cumbersome things....
According to a recent report by 9to5Google, Google is now rolling out the Material You design, which is the name of the theme on Android 12. However, it is not yet complete and is a work-in-progress affair. Notably, the bottom bar is now taller. This provides more room for placing the pill-shaped buttons. The highlight and other elements of Google Photos are now blue. Apparently, this also means that the Google Photos app is not making use of the Dynamic color....
Last September, the then Facebook teamed up with Ray-Ban to give us the new Ray-Ban Stories, their first pair of “smart glasses”. They combined the traditional look of Ray-Ban frames with Facebook tech and a pair of cameras to capture and share every moment of your life to social media. Yeah, not exactly a new idea. Still, almost immediately, privacy concerns started to pop up. Facebook has changed its name to Meta now, but those concerns are still around and Meta has released the “Meta Human Rights Report” detailing its impact on the world, with a section that talks specifically about Ray-Ban Stories and the associated privacy risks....
This vaccination policy from Netflix comes just a week after the Hollywood unions and major studios agreed on new protocols that would enable studios to resume production works while ensuring the safety of the casts and crew. The new protocols give producers “the option to implement mandatory vaccination policies for casts and crew in Zone A on a production-by-production basis,” Deadline reports. Zone A is where actors work without any safety gear such as masks....
Nikon has released new firmware updates for both the Nikon Z6 and Nikon Z7 mirrorless cameras. Both firmwares are marked as version 2.10, and are fundamentally identical in features and fixes. They add support for the two new Z mount lenses, change the way a couple of things work and fix a few bugs. What they don’t do is add CFexpress support or RAW output over HDMI, the latter of which is something that Z6 Filmmaker’s Kit owners have already been waiting for for quite a long time....
