After rolling it out for Instagram Live, Instagram is now testing a dedicated fundraising feature on the platform. Users in the UK, Ireland, and the US can now host fundraisers for their small business, for a friend, or for any other personal cause. The feature has also been available on Facebook which, I’ll remind you, is a parent company of Instagram. And it has proven to be pretty popular. According to Facebook, “people have raised over $64 million for COVID-19 and racial justice fundraisers globally” across both platforms....

According to the company, these warnings and timeouts showed great potential during testing. They “reduce the likelihood of users leaving violative comments again”. At launch, this feature will only work for English comments. The company plans to add support for more languages in the coming months. Since it relies on machine-powered automated detection, YouTube notes that it may not always get things right. As such, users who receive such warnings can give feedback if they feel the machine got it wrong....

Google Photos has been one of the best photo hosting cloud services out there, offering storage for an unlimited number of your photos absolutely free – as long as you didn’t mind a slight hit in image quality. But that is coming to an end and Google is abandoning its free tier. You still get your free 15GB (shared across all Google services, like Gmail, etc), but if you want any more than that, you’ll have to pay now....
