The dual camera system is still relatively new and it’s mainly integrated into high-end phones. However, Samsung will soon enable dual camera features even in cheaper smartphones. The company has introduced ISOCELL Dual image sensors and proprietary software for achieving bokeh effect and low light shooting. Ben K. Hur, vice president of System LSI marketing at Samsung Electronics, says that ISOCELL Dual will help “to bring the most optimized dual camera features to a wider range of consumers....

The Galaxy S10 5G is currently receiving the November security update in Europe. The new firmware version for the world’s 5G smartphone is G977BXXUDHVK1 (via). Samsung should expand the release to more markets in the coming days. However, since the phone no longer receives monthly security patches, it may skip the November SMR in some regions. The device isn’t a priority for the Korean brand anymore, at least in terms of security updates....

Sony has released the much-anticipated new V2.00 firmware to add the S-Cinetone picture profile preset to the Sony A7S III mirrorless camera. This now basically brings it in line with the Sony FX3, but with a built-in EVF and a significantly lower price point. The new firmware also adds the Active setting to Steady Shot when shooting with S&Q Frame Rate enabled. There are a few other little fixes in there, too, including FTP transfers as well as USB tethering to the iPhone (although iOS 14 isn’t supported yet)....

First aired in August 1997, South Park is now in its 24th season and still running strong. However, there’s been only one movie based on the series to date: Bigger, Longer and Uncut released in June 1999. More than two decades later, we are seemingly in for a bunch of them. Trey Parker and Matt Stone will reportedly make two new made-for-streaming original movies every year through 2027 for a total of 14 movies....

The amount of 360° cameras is seems to be growing daily. From consumer cameras like the Theta S and Gear 360 to expensive cinema solutions, VR has become accessible to all.
