Google updated the Lens icon in March 2021. It replaced the rounded square with a more simplistic camera icon. The company wanted to better communicate that tapping the button will open the camera. However, for more than a year, the new icon only appeared in the Google app. The standalone Lens app available via the Play Store still features the previous icon. Google also hasn’t updated the shortcuts to the visual search tool in other apps such as Photos....

First spotted by 9to5Google, the experimental like counter in Google Discover is now available for individual articles. Earlier, it was limited to carousels of related articles that revolve around a particular topic. The like counts also didn’t always appear before, even on the same device. The feature now seems to be more consistent for those who have access to it. Not all articles are getting the like counter just yet though....

For clarity, according to the company, it has already taken staunch action against misinformation and disinformation. Since January 2020, it has removed 25 million pieces of content and set new policies in place for the removal of content. Including policies that, as of this writing, allow for the immediate removal of more than 80 distinct false claims that are spread about the ongoing dilemma. The list includes claims about “masking, social distancing, and the transmissibility of the virus” as well as others....

Peacock’s total customers has increased nearly 70% year to date. And have added about 2 million paid customers in the previous quarter, bringing it to 15 million. That’s not to shabby, but still far behind the likes of Disney+, Hulu and Netflix. Comcast launched Peacock as a way to help stop the bloodshed from traditional cable TV, as more and more people opt to cut the cord. Comcast owns NBCUniversal, so it has a lot of TV shows and movies that it can put on Peacock....
