With influences ranging from The Avengers and X-Men to Star Wars and The Martian, French photographer Sofiane Samial (AKA Samsofy) spends his days making amazing Lego photography in a project titled Legography. Intriqued by Samsofy’s work, DIYP reached out to get some more insight into this project, discussing his inspirations, and how he creates them. Samsofy, who is based in Lyon, France, started his photographic life capturing extreme sports in urban settings, but being heavily under the influence of geek culture, his focus shifted quite heavily from the action sports he’d been shooting to those much loved small yellow characters....

Even in the digital era, there are still those who shoot film and hand-develop all their photos. On the other hand, there are those who can’t even insert a film into an analog camera, but create stunning photos with a digital one. German photographer, Andreas von Grabowiecki, managed to combined analog with digital and create something beautiful. Andreas is a child of the modern age and takes mainly digital photos. Still he decided to try a hand printing method which is 174 years old....

Light painting is something many of us try at some point in our photographic journey. Some of us just make a brief visit into this world, but others make it their home. One such photographer is Derek VanAlthuis, an avid light painter who’s produced some outstanding work. One such image is the one above. I love seeing the wet plate experiments of Austrian photographer Markus Hofstätter. He’s so prolific with them that when he decides to do something interesting it ends up being very interesting. Photographer Noah Kalina started his ongoing project Everyday on 11 January 2000. He would take a photo of himself every single day, and his project turned 20 a few days ago. To celebrate this incredible milestone, Noah published a mesmerizing timelapse that shows 20 years of life in only eight minutes.
