DaVinci Resolve has come a very long way over the last few years. From its humble existing as the colour grading tool of choice, it’s grown into a full-blown editor that now easily competes with the established big boys in the non-linear editing world, like Premiere Pro, Final Cut and Avid. After several months of beta testing, Blackmagic has now announced the final release of version 16.1, including a lot of updates....

The world’s largest-ever digital camera is currently being assembled and readied to be installed at the Vera Rubin Observatory, Chile. With a resolution of 3,200 megapixels, the images are so huge and detailed that you could spot a golf ball 20 miles away. The camera is the Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST) and will photograph half the Southern sky every 3 days. Every week astronomers, astrophysicists and cosmologists will have a complete image of the entire sky in that region....

Whether you love or hate Zack Snyder’s latest flick, Army of the Dead (which I have now watched since my last post about it), it sure did have some beautiful cinematography. One shot in particular really stands out.
