I recently returned from a seven day wilderness canoe trip to Algonquin Provincial Park with my family. The purpose of the trip was half family vacation and half extended photoshoot for my portfolio at Stocksy United. Backcountry canoeing with an eight and ten year old meant that we had to stick to a relatively moderate route – but paddling roughly 60 km in total with 10 km of portages also meant that we had to pack as light and compact as possible....
Facebook first introduced the world to Surround 360 in April. It’s a 3D 360° camera rig that shoots up to 8K footage per eye. They announced at launch that all the designs and software would be coming to GitHub this summer and it’s finally here. Built using 17 4MP cameras, it has a total cost of around $30,000. So, it’s not the type of inexpensive weekend project to do with your kids....

But one month before the Fyre Festival in the Bahamas was due to happen, organise realised they’d spent almost all their funds. They reportedly spent millions of dollars on celebrity guests, private planes and yachts to promote this luxury event. And a big chunk of it went on Instagram, including $250,000 for a single post on Kendal Jenner’s stream....
What even is a ‘studio shooter’ today? Years ago it was a little easier to define, but due to us having tons of heavy, cumbersome lighting and cameras, we were all pretty grounded in the actual home-base of a studio. Today though, the vast majority of my own jobs are not shot in my own space. I shoot wherever I’m needed and whether that be in a home, an office, hair salon or even another hired studio, I’m always on the move....
