The speed of information flow on the Internet is a double-edged sword. While it lets us get informed about anything in no time, it also helps fake news spread like wildfire. This is why Google has joined the battle against doctored images. From now on, Google will fact check all the images you search and let you know if they’re fake. Today sees GoPro release their fourth quarter 2017 report, and it’s not looking all that great for the GoPro Karma. In the midst of reporting an $80 million loss for the quarter, GoPro has announced that they’re getting out of the drone business. There’s little mention of the 300 staff they recently laid off, but the Karma will be both the first and last drone the company produce. So, in short, they couldn’t catch up to, nor keep up with DJI....

When we hear about fake products in the photography world, it’s usually memory cards. Cheap SD cards with fake SanDisk or Lexar labels being sold at well below market price. Sometimes, though, it’s even fake cameras and lenses. But there are a lot of other counterfeit accessories out there for cameras, too. BlackRapid have recently taken to social media to warn potential customers about unethical retailers. It seems that some of them are bundling in low-quality unbranded components instead of the BlackRapid originals with their straps....
