The GEOS-16 satellite lifted off in November last year. The satellite contains an Advanced Baseline Imager, which boasts images of earth at four times the resolution of any other satellite. While announcement date rumours aren’t always that reliable, the spec sheets often are, especially as we get closer to (or past) those expected announcement dates. Sony Rumors just posted a new list of specs along with some photos they discovered through Weibo for the new Sony A7000, which will be announced either during CES next week, or later in January 2019. Update: Sony Alpha Rumors is disputing this rumour as “fake”....

Nikon has now released Firmware Update 2.0 for the Nikon Z6 and Z7 mirrorless cameras. The new firmware brings improved low light performance a number of minor tweaks and fixes and, finally, Eye-Detection Autofocus. Lack of Eye Autofocus has been the biggest missing feature, and largest complain from potential mirrorless customers. Not just for Nikon, but for everybody else, too. Sony has set a standard and now everybody else must meet it....

According to serial leakers, who are usually fairly right, Nokishita, Nikon is planning to “make some announcements” about the Nikon D6 DSLR, successor to the current flagship Nikon D5. In a post made to Twitter, Nokishita says that the announcements will come on September 4th.
