The Canon 1DX Mark II seems to be the clear camera of choice for this year’s games. There’s a few original 1DX thrown in for good measure. You may be familiar with the increasingly popular scam targeting photographers. Scammers use Facebook Marketplace, pay through Venmo, and cancel the payment after you’ve already handed over the gear. Photographer Jennifer Khordi was scammed this way and had her $3,800 worth Nikon D810A stolen. But, thanks to the community and photographer Eli Wohl, the scammer was identified and Khordi got her camera back. Jennifer Khordy listed her DSLR through Facebook Marketplace and soon got contacted by a buyer named “Daniel Rodriguez....
Most of us hold our cameras. Or mount them on a tripod. Either way, most of us are on the outsides of our cameras. For Canadian photographer Ross den Otter, though, stepping inside his camera is exactly how he makes his portraits. Needless to say, it’s a rather large one. Ross uses a camera obsurace. Essentially a large room with a hole in one wall. In this hole a large format lens is mounted, which projects the outside scene onto a wall on the inside....
If there’s one thing about camera bags and cases, it’s that we never seem to have enough. Like the cameras they contain, they just build up and multiply over time. We justify the collection of bags and cases by saying that each has a different purpose. That they’re all used when shooting in different circumstances. And while “the perfect camera bag” can never exist, there can be perfect examples of particular types of bags for each of those different circumstances....
There is a lot of power you can master once you go from available light to even using one strobe.
