Video shooters have been asking for it, and Panasonic has delivered. Panasonic has now announced the new Lumix GH5S aimed squarely at video shooters. It shoots 4K video at up to 60 frames per second, and the GH5’s 1080p limit has been knocked up from 180fps to 240fps. A reduced 10.28MP stills resolution offers double the pixel power for more dynamic range & ISO. It also includes V-Log and LUT support, allowing you to store up to 4 LUTs in the camera which can be utilised either while recording or playback of files....

Smartphone filter kits seem to be coming through thick and fast lately, with the most recent being NiSi’s iPhone filter kit announced a few weeks ago. Now, there’s another hitting the market. It’s the Snap Filter, a magnetic filter system for the iPhone from Pan’s Scheme, a company founded by YouTuber, Mediastorm. It’s an interesting system which offers some familiar filters including ND, Mist and star filters as well as anamorphic look-a-likes, blue and gold streak (in horizontal and vertical flavours)....

I’ve seen a lot of talk on Facebook lately about a new Mavic potentially on the horizon recently. Either a much more advanced version with better video, or a cut down, less expensive alternative. In a similar fashion to their Phantom lines which have typically had 2 or 3 different models for each major version. It seems, though, that both of these lines of thought might be wrong. Earlier this month, DJI filed a trademark application for the “Spark”....

While Pantone is a widely used color matching system, it is also an artistic inspiration. Graphic Designer Andrea Antoni uses it to match the colors of landscapes and cityscapes with Pantone palettes. He travels and takes photos of scenery and cities, and finds Pantone colors in these scenes. Later on, he digitally adds his hand holding a matching Pantone swatch for each image and turns travel images into unique memories....

You can’t beat a good DIY crazy camera and they don’t get much crazier than this. Built by Matt at DIY Perks, this particular camera features a 432mm f/5 episcope lens with an image projection circle of around 500mm in diameter. To give you some idea of scale, your average full-frame lens has an image projection circle with a diameter of at least 43mm. That’s an area of 0.015 square meters....
