Royal Society Publishing is a photography contest that celebrates the beauty of science. The 2019 winners have been announced, and they show us natural and scientific phenomena that are astounding, but also truly beautiful and photogenic. It’s like the plot of a low budget movie. Pierce County Sheriff’s Department in Tacoma, Washington, says that they have arrested former Colorado Springs mayoral candidate, Juliette Parker, and her 16-year-old daughter. The charge? Well, they say she allegedly posed as a newborn photographer in an attempt to steal a baby from a new mother using a drugged cupcake. YouTube has announced that its short-form video feature, the imaginatively titled Shorts, has been expanded from its initial offering of India and the USA to also cover the UK, Canada and 21 countries in Latin America. Shorts is YouTube’s answer to TikTok, allowing you to upload up-to-60-second videos to your channel in between your regular long-form videos.
