I decided to go with two different models from CORESWX. I initially went with two models from SWIT. The smaller SWIT-8320S and the larger SWIT S-8192S. The smaller ones are pretty cool as they are water resistant and shock resistant....
Replying to email is one of those daily chores that never seems to end. If you’re a retail photographer (weddings, portraits, events, boudoir), you can probably guess what an email from a potential new client is going to say before you even open it: What are your rates? How many photos do you take? Can I have the RAW files…? etc. So why not save your sanity and automate your initial email response?...
Ladies and gentlemen, the king of lenses has been crowned. DxOMark has announced their test results for the Sigma 85mm f/1.4 Art lens, and it’s the lens with the highest score ever. It won 51 when mounted on a Nikon D800E and left Zeiss Otus 85mm f/1.4 eat its dust. DxOMark scores sharpness, transmission, distortion, vignetting and chromatic aberration, and Sigma seems to have nailed it in all categories. Interestingly enough, it scored slightly better on Nikon D800E than D810 (51 on the first and 50 on the second)....
As you could have seen on our blog, action cams sometimes get to capture pretty crazy stuff while people record their sports activities. This time, Jamie Mullner had his GoPro on while he was skiing, and he accidentally captured something that could have ended with severe injuries. He fell into a 60ft deep crevasse, and his camera kept on running and recorded the entire accident and the rescue. The video shows the skiing that looks like any other, and the guys mention that they’re a bit freaked out by the crevasse at the bottom of the slope....
I wondered how long it’d be before these two did some kind of collaboration and now it’s finally here. We’re big fans of The Slow Mo Guys here at DIYP, who use Phantom cameras to show us events recorded in super slow motion, letting us see new things that our eyes simply aren’t capable of spotting in real-time. As well as the obvious visual appeal, the insights into physics and how things work is just fascinating....
