A few days ago, a photo “debunking” protest fires in Paris appeared on Twitter and it quickly went viral. It shows two images side-by-side “proving” that the fire was actually harmless, but only shot from a low angle so it appears huge. However, when this “fact checker” was fact checked, it turned out that it was actually fake: reportedly , the two photos weren’t only taken on different days, but also in different parts of the city....
New start up, Staaker, has just released their auto-follow action drone for preorder. Most of today’s drones are designed to be flown manually with remotes. Staaker, though, see things differently. Gone is the traditional remote control and the FPV headset. No longer do you need a dedicated drone operator to record your extreme antics. This one just follows you around wherever you go. Follow mode isn’t exactly new. The Phantom 4, Yuneec Typhoon and plenty of others have had it for a while....
Dronestagram is the first social network dedicated to aerial photography. Four years in a row, they’ve been choosing the best of the best aerial images. In partnership with National Geographic, they have recently published the winners of their 2017 drone photography contest. There were about 8,000 photos submitted. Photographers all over the world sent their works, both professionals and enthusiasts. The winners have been chosen in three main categories: Nature, Urban, People; and the additional category: Creativity....

If you’re not dealing with broadcast, and you’re simply uploading to YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, etc. then I’ll save you some time. You don’t have to stick with 29.97 framerate. It’s old, it’s obsolete, it’s no longer technically relevant, shoot and play back at whatever framerate you like.
