I don’t know whether to laugh or cry at this one. The HMS Queen Elizabeth (Ro8) is the Royal Navy’s largest warship. It’s brand new. It cost £3 billion ($3.9 billion) to build. It was only officially named last month, and it’s not even been formally commissioned yet. The HMS Queen Elizabeth began sea trials on June 26th. During a recent visit to Scotland as part of this tour, a gentleman who is not being named managed to land his drone on it....
Our friends at eMotimo were recently kind enough to send us a brand new eMotimo Spectrum St4 to review. The eMotimo Spectrum St4 is a four axis robotic motion control system designed from the ground up for cinematographers and time lapse photographers. With the Spectrum, users have precise control over pan, tilt, move (push/pull) and focus pull/zoom (four axis) movements during live video, preset motion sequences or time lapse moves. I have used the Spectrum for a couple of weeks now and I thought that I would share my initial first impressions of the unit, and some of the more interesting capabilities that the Spectrum has to offer....
After a rather recent public controversy over censorship rules, Facebook are revisiting their playbook when it comes to newsworthy images. Those posting images like the one at the top of this post by photography Nick Ut, were warned to remove or pixelate them to comply with Facebook’s guidelines. When even Norwegian Prime Minister, Erna Solberg reposted the photo to shot her support, her post was removed, too. The images and associated posts have since been reinstated....
