As a result of a recent appeal from PETA, Shutterstock has decided to ban all photos of monkeys and apes in unnatural situations. The photos will not only be banned from Shutterstock, but also from its subsidiary Bigstock. The ban includes the photos of primates in all settings unnatural to them. But, even if the photos are digitally manipulated to just look unnatural – they are also not welcome on Shutterstock either....

Sigma has today announced the addition of three new full frame lenses to their Cinema line. The 28mm T1.5, 40mm T1.5 and 105mm T1.5 are the newest high-speed cinema lenses from Sigma. This brings the total lineup of Sigma’s full frame high-speed cinema lenses to ten. With the addition of the three new lenses, eight out of the ten are now a super fast T1.5 aperture, with only the 135mm and 14mm lenses sitting at T2....

Sigma has announced a new plugin which adds X3F import support into Adobe Photoshop CC. Sigma camera users have been mostly limited to using Sigma’s own Sigma Photo Pro software to process their camera’s X3F raw files. A few cameras are supported natively by Adobe Camera RAW, but their recent cameras are not. Now, though, you can bypass the (rather sluggish) Sigma processing software and bring your X3F files straight into Photoshop....

Sony has revealed the world’s first Full-Frame PTZ (Pan/Tilt/Zoom) interchangeable lens camera with their brand new FR7. Aimed firmly at live productions and cinema, the camera is fully compatible with the entire range of over 70 Sony E-mount lenses. This is quite a game changer in terms of PTZ cameras, and DIYP was excited to find out more about the FR7. Here we talk to Hiroaki Nakao from Sony who walks us through the key features....
