Irix has finally announced that their 11mm T4.3, 15mm T2.6, 45mm T1.5 and 150mm T3.0 Cine lenses are now available for Canon RF, Nikon Z and Leica L mount camera systems. Until now, these lenses had only been available in Canon EF, Sony E, Arri PL and Micro Four Thirds mounts. The Irix Cine lenses are based on their popular photography lenses, some of which we’ve reviewed here on DIYP before....
A year or so ago, I wrote a blog post on why I switched from Nikon to Sony. A few people asked why I didn’t move to the Nikon mirrorless system. And the answer was simple, I didn’t want to risk shooting a wedding with a single memory card slot. I shoot RAW to both cards at every wedding. And have a rigorous backup process once home too. I know lots prefer to have their backup as Jpeg, but if my main card failed, I’d still want to have the RAW files....
In a recent article on Japanese outlet Newswitch, Ricoh CFO Shun Kawaguchi says that the company is looking to essentially dump some of its business in order to be able to focus its time and money on more lucrative areas of the company. There was no explicit mention of Pentax, Ricoh’s own branded cameras or the Theta series of 360° cameras, although logically, they might be some of the first up for the chopping block – and probably in that order....
The new Laowa 19mm f/2.8 Zero-D GFX lens rumoured last week has now officially been announced. As the “GFX” part of the name suggests, the lens has been designed for Fujifilm medium format GFX mount cameras. At 19mm, this is already an extremely wide lens, even if it were for full-frame, but on the larger medium format sensor, it gives a field of view equivalent to that of about a 15mm lens on full-frame....
