For anybody who’s ever shot video under artificial light with pretty much any kind of video camera, one thing that you’ll often be fighting is flicker. It used to be simple. If you were in the USA or Central and South America, set your shutter speed to 1/60th and you’re good. In most of the rest of the world, 1/50th is the go-to. But gone are the days of energy-wasting inefficient tungsten....

Last year, photographer Howard Kennedy got under fire because of a nude photoshoot inside the 17th century Craigievar Castle. The National Trust for Scotland (NTS), who owns the castle, started an investigation after revealing the nude photos Kennedy shot inside of it. However, the photographer has now decided to fight back. Reportedly, he is suing NTS for damaging his personal reputation and seeks £50,000 in libel damages. The Craigievar Castle is located in Aberdeenshire, Scotland....

I think one of the most important aspects of a successful photo is what happens before you ever click the shutter. Pre-visualization of what you want the photo to look like can happen quickly where you immediately envision the final photo, or it can develop over time where you build on your original concept, adding or subtracting elements, re-thinking your take on it before finally deciding on exactly what to shoot....

I’m sure that, at one point of your life, you were crazy about Angry Birds. I know I was! But have you ever seen one in person and not on your phone? Scott Taylor did, and he was lucky enough to photograph it. Scott shared his “real-life Angry Bird” photo online, and people have gone mad about it as much as they did about the game.
