This is a little strange and surprising. Nikon appears to be making their own memory cards now. Or, at least, they’re rebranding somebody else’s if not making them themselves. A new listing has shown up on the Nikon website for a Nikon 120GB XQD card. It’s listed as coming at some point during September 2018. It’s a little bit odd, really, to see Nikon’s name on a memory card. It’s just not something we typically see, except with Sony – who were already making various memory cards for other devices before they even bought Minolta and got into photography....

Panasonic have announced a new ultra fast, wide lens built for professional daily use. The Panasonic Leica DG Summilux 12mm f/1.4 ASPH lens for Micro Four Thirds cameras seems built to meet the needs of demanding photographers and filmmakers who need maximum resolution and low light performance. Giving the equivalent field of view as that of a 24mm lens on a full frame DSLR, the fast f/1.4 aperture lets in a lot of light for shooting in darker conditions, and also offers a very shallow depth of field for more cinematic environmental portrait shots....

Founded in 2012, ParaZero specialises in the development of parachute systems for both manned and unmanned vehicles. And we’ve shown you some of their drone parachute technology a couple of years ago being tested on a 3DR Solo. Since then, ParaZero has gone on to produce a range of “SafeAir” parachutes for larger drone models, like the DJI Matrice 600 series. Now, though, they’re looking at a more mainstream audience, offering new SafeAir parachutes for DJI’s very popular Mavic Pro and Phantom series drones....
