It is extremely rare to see a camera that is not black. And square. I think that, except for kids’ cameras and a few experiments in the early ages of digital photography, it’s quite a boring landscape. What if, though… what if… We asked famous film directors to create cameras based on their visual film vision. I thought that it was an experiment worth having, and I asked MidJourney to create some cameras for me based on famous movies....
So, it looks like we won’t just be seeing an EOS R7 soon, but an EOS R10, too. According to multiple reports from Digicame-info and Canon Rumors (1, 2), we’ll be seeing an EOS R10, a potential successor to the Canon EOS M5 and the apparently discontinued EOS M6 Mark II, being announced on May 24th. We’re also going to be seeing an EOS R7 being announced possibly on the same day....
Recently, a number of users have reported that the Canon 1DX Mark III will lock up under certain (often mystifying) conditions. Canon seems to have at least figured out what’s causing the issue now, though, even if they haven’t managed to resolve it yet. From Canon’s description of the problem, it all boils down to the electronic level indicator. For now, the recommended advice is simply to disable it, although Canon has said that a new firmware update is on the way, planned for release in early April, to resolve the issue completely....
CBS Broadcasting has filed one of the most unusual lawsuits I’ve ever heard of. They are suing photojournalist Jon Tannen for copyright infringement because of the screenshots he posted on social media. The screenshots are from a 1958 episode of the TV series “Gunsmoke,” and CBS seeks $150,000 in damages. The lawsuit from CBS came after Tannen sued them for using his images without permission. So, it looks like a “retaliatory strike,” as Ars Technica describes it....
DJI has announced that as of September 30th, 2022, they will no longer be providing maintenance or technical support for their Phantom 2 (2.4G) and Phantom 3 4K drone models or their accessories. It’s not much of a surprise, given that DJI hasn’t manufactured these products since 2017 and drone technology has come a long way, but there are still a lot of Phantom 2 and Phantom 3 models out there still flying....
