I’ve read a lot of positive comments and I’ve also seen a lot of negative comments. Most of the negative comments seem to focus on the price and non-upgradability of the iMac Pro. So let’s talk first about the upgradability. The only thing that can kind of be upgraded in the iMac Pro is the RAM. I say “kind of” because you can’t do it yourself. The iMac Pro is pretty much a sealed box and only authorised Apple service centre can access it, so less than ideal....
This is something I’ve been thinking about ever since word broke that Canon essentially ordered Viltrox to stop making autofocus RF mount lenses. In response, Viltrox didn’t just stop making autofocus RF mount lenses, but all RF mount products altogether. Samyang/Rokinon also seems to have faced a similar challenge from Canon last year when they pulled all of their autofocus RF mount lenses. Is Canon potentially stifling their own growth amongst camera users by doing so, though?...
No, it’s not 2013, it’s 2019, but UK photography retailer Jessops looks like it might be going into administration again. Jessops had narrowly avoided administration in 2009 after coming to a deal with its lender, HSBC. But the company went into administration in January 2013 as a result of a significant marketplace decline in 2012. After closing all of its stores and the loss of 2,000 jobs it looked like the Jessops brand might be saved, after it was acquired by Dragons Den star Peter Jones....
