Wearable camera technology might seem like a gimmick, especially after the failure of Google Glass. But, every day, we hear of new wearable camera devices being released. So, while some may be gimmicks, it looks like the ideas a whole is here to stay. The one issue that current cameras have had, though, is that they’re kind of power hungry. Researchers at the University of Washington have now developed a new HD streaming camera that soon may require no batteries at all....

A few weeks ago Laowa sent me a copy of their first lens dedicated to Sony’s full frame e-mount system, the 15mm f/2. According to a recent rumor, some or all of Kodak Alaris film business might be sold as soon as March current year. Reportedly, the company has out its film, paper and photo chemical assets up for sale in an attempt to cover around $2.7 billion worth of debt. This news came as a surprise, considering that Kodak brought back Ektachrome film in 2018 and introduced it in 120 and large format just recently....

Samsung has introduced a variable aperture in mobile photography and put a triple camera setup in a mid-range phone. The company is soon launching the next flagship model Galaxy S10, and the camera specs have just leaked. A few sources have confirmed that S10 will have a triple rear camera, so this setup is not reserved for the recently launched A7 only. Reportedly, there will also be an S10+ model which will pack five cameras in total: three on the back and two on the front....

After Sony’s 1,000fps smartphone camera announcement earlier this year, other manufacturers are playing catch up. Sure, the new iPhone 8, 8 Plus and X shoot 1080p at 240fps, but it’s not 1,000fps is it? Samsung are hitting back, though. According to Etnews, the Korean electronics manufacter are now developing their own 1,000fps smartphone camera sensor.
