Sigma’s full-frame Foveon camera is starting to feel a little like the Duke Nukem Forever of the photography world. Sigma shooters have been wanting one for years, and when the L Mount Alliance was announced at Photokina 2018, the world was told to expect one in 2019. 2019 came and went with the promise of a 2020 release. Just last month, we were told that full-frame Foveon would not be coming in 2020....

Sigma has announced the new Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary Lens for Fuji X Mount. Originally released in October of 2021 for Leica L and Sony E mount, this APS-C lens is now available to Fuji shooters. It’s pretty much the same lens, but with a new mount, so it has all of the same specifications with the same internals and external appearance. It just has a larger customer base....

It’s only 18 months since Sony released the full-frame Sony FX3, a compact cinema camera based on much of the same tech found in the Sony A7S III but with a design better suited to filmmaking. It’s been a popular camera – and we just used two of them for our IBC coverage in Amsterdam a couple of weeks ago – but now there is a new contender. Sony has today officially announced the new Sony FX30, which is essentially an APS-C (or Super 35mm, if you prefer) version of the FX3....

On Thursday, 16 May 2019, The Camera Store in Canada was robbed. A man took a Sony A7R III and Sony 16-35mm F2.8 G Master lens, and when the staff tried to stop him – the man attacked them with bear spray and managed to escape. On their blog, the guys from The Camera Store explained what happened in their Calgary-based store. The robbery happened in broad daylight, around 5 pm....

Lensrentals recently had a Fuji GFX 100 out, which they were told was used in a dive housing and “suddenly died for no reason”....
