External dials and gizmos have been common in the movie industry for years. The Bumble Bulb PAR30 is a new high-end LED light in the Omni-Color range from folks at Hive Lighting. Being touted as “a cutting-edge tool for film and television production” the new light comes in a PAR30 short neck form factor with a CRI 95 and TLCI 94. It sports modular optics, with both wired and wireless DMX control, a built-in battery and a tough rugged weatherproof enclosure. Hive says this is their most portable and affordable Omni-Color LED light and is compatible with professional or practical lamps with a standard E26/E27 socket....

Adobe has released their June update for the Creative Cloud, which they says is the biggest feature update since the Adobe MAX conference in November 2019. It brings some new selection tools to Photoshop, particularly suited to cutting out people and hair, rotatable patterns, font matching, and more for the desktop, as well as a slew of updates for Photoshop for the iPad and Lightroom for all platforms. The headline feature for Photoshop on the desktop is the “Select Subject” feature....

Launched in 2017, Platypod Max quickly became quite popular among action shooters and those working in rough terrain where a traditional tripod just isn’t practical. It’s essentially a metal plate with feet on the bottom, a 3/8-16″ thread on the top and a bunch of mounting holes and four adjustable feet to let you set it up pretty much anywhere you want. There’s a report coming out of Canon Rumors at the moment that one of Sony’s trucks has been stolen. This truck apparently contains all of the equipment that was destined to appear at the NAB show in Las Vegas taking place next week. CR also report that Sony’s truck contained some equipment from other manufacturers which would be used alongside Sony’s gear at the show. There’s been no official announcement from Sony themselves, although Sony Alpha Rumors seem to back up the story....
