As if Facebook’s photo rules and regulations didn’t seem stupid enough already. Now, according to Business Insider, they’re banning people for posting photographs of 30,000-year-old statues that have appeared in history books for decades. The Venus of Willendorf is an 11.1cm (4.4″) all figurine estimated to have been made sometime between 28,000 and 25,000 BCE. It currently resides in the Natural History Museum in Vienna. In December a photograph was posted by Italian arts activist, Laura Ghianda to Facebook....
Facebook has the policy to ban photographic nudity, which has been a problem for many photographers who share their work on Facebook and Instagram. But this could soon change. Photographer Spencer Tunick recently organized a nude photo shoot outside of company’s offices to challenge its policies. I was just raking up the last of the fall leaves and though that I’d like to get some photos of the kids jumping in my big leaf pile. The image I had in my head was one of those amazing fall days where that gorgeous warm glowing late day sunshine was back-lighting the leaves and highlighting the kids. Problem was: by the time I was done raking the leaves, it was petty late in the day so most of my yard was in shade, and the ambient light that was available was coming from the wrong direction....
