Following yesterday’s release of the Fujifilm X100V, the company published a series of promotional videos. However, one of them caused a strong backlash from the community. People complained about the featured photographer’s intrusiveness, and Fujifilm eventually decided to remove the video. However, a copy of it can still be found on YouTube. Google’s Gcam research team focuses on computational photography. They develop the algorithms that assist in shooting photos with smartphones and other small cameras. When one of the team’s then researchers, Florian Kainz, went out to shoot under a full moon with a high end DSLR. He got one photograph he was particularly proud of, so took it into work. His teammates challenged him to recreate the image with a phone. Of course, Florian shot it with a Canon 1DX and Zeiss Otus 28mm f/1....
