Ads annoy most of us, but when they’re well-made and creative, they can even be fun to watch. Spa Nederland (mineral water company) has one of those brilliant ads – it shows shooting portraits with a lens made from a water droplet. Photographer Robin de Puy used only a droplet, a glass plate and electricity to create a lens made of water, and it was even possible to focus it. She shot some portraits, and this little experiment turned out to give impressive results....

A few months ago, photographer Seth Miranda and a few other photographers had their gear stolen – by a fellow photographer. Seth and his colleagues had between $12,000 and $15,000 worth of gear stolen from their NYC studio. Seth went public about the case a few days ago, sharing the story with his Instagram followers now that the suspect has reportedly admitted to the crime. In a series of Instagram Stories, Seth revealed that his studio was robbed by David Scott Holloway....

Photographer rights are always a bit of a hot topic, and often brings out extreme points of view from all sides. There’s the law, there’s common sense & decency, and then there’s just outright stupidity. The world over, the rights of photographers do seem to be becoming more common knowledge amongst non-photographers, but Tim Berry of Practical Photography Magazine wanted to see just what would happen while doing a little architectural photography out on the streets....
