Leica has released a new firmware update for the M10-P, M10-R and M10 Monochrom cameras that adds a new Perspective Control feature to the camera for correcting perspective distortion. It’s designed to help get your horizons straighter and to stop vertical lines converging with each other as they get further away from the camera. It’s a similar effect to using tilt-shift lenses to correct the issues inherent with photographing something on-axis, except this is done digitally....

I spent many, many years working in a busy studio that focused on quantity over quality. As photographers working there, we did our best to push back against this where we could, but sometimes you only had 20-30 minutes with a client to achieve a handful of different looks and sadly this invariably led to you often reverting to the simplistic, yet professional looking white background shots out of necessity. Earlier in the week, Apple released macOS Catalina. But if you’re using Photoshop or Lightroom CC on your Mac, you may want to put the upgrade on hold. Adobe users have reported numerous problems with Photoshop and Lightroom after upgrading the system. And Adobe itself has confirmed that these two programs still aren’t compatible with the latest macOS. Adobe pointed out on Help pages of both Photoshop and Lightroom that these two pieces of software don’t work well with macOS 10....

Atomos has announced the new Atomos Connect accessory that plugs your Ninja V or Ninja V+ and a new Shogun Connect all-in-one device, both of which allow you to capture and beam your footage straight up to the Frame.io Camera to Cloud (C2C). The Frame.io C2C system is designed to better aid remote collaboration or for sending footage shot on location back to home base so it can start being worked on while the shoot’s still going on....

With the exception of the coronavirus, the photography world is glued to news of Canon’s upcoming EOS R5 – essentially the mirrorless continuation of Canon’s popular EOS 5D DSLR line. But Canon is also working on an EOS R6, which looks set to replace the EOS 6D DSLR product line – which will presumably end with the 6D Mark II. EOS R6 talk has been a little quiet for a while, but a few new specs about the camera have been leaked via Canon Rumors....
