Photographer Sues Netflix For Using His Photo In Stranger Things Without Permission

Perhaps you remember the case from earlier this year, when Netflix was accused of using a storm image without permission for its hit show Stranger Things. Photographer Sean R. Heavey took the photo, and he is now filing a lawsuit against Netflix for copyright infringement. Heavey captured the photo of the supercell on 10 July 2010 near Hinsdale, Valley County, Montana and titled it The Mothership. Photographer Used Photoshop Skills To Steal 16 000 From Photography Association

An Australian astrophotographer has pleaded guilty to several counts of fraud and theft after stealing over $16,000 from the Professional Photographers’ Association of Queensland (PPAQ) over a 3 year period. Photographer Mark Culley allegedly used his Photoshop skills to forge bank statements and financial reports, and also to replicate the signature of the association’s accountant. Culley pleaded guilty to five charges of fraud including two counts of forgery. The crimes were committed between 2015 and 2019 when Culley was the Association’s President and Treasurer....
