Rokinon/Samyang has today announced their new AF 85mm f/1.4 RF lens for the Canon RF mount. While it appears to simply be a new mount version of their existing AF 85mm f/1.4 for Sony, it presents something of a bargain when it comes to fast portrait glass for Canon’s EOS R mirrorless cameras. Officially, the new Z6 & Z7 firmware is still under development, although it’s scheduled for release in May. Amongst various fixes, several new features are being added to both cameras, including the addition of Eye AF. The folks at Newsshooter got a chance to have a brief play with the new firmware in its current state and speak to one of the Nikon reps about the feature during CP+ 2019....
Well, there’s not much that we didn’t already know about the specs of these two lenses, thanks to a pretty much total leak of everything a couple of weeks ago, but Tamron has now officially announced their new 35-150mm f/2-2.8 Di III VXD and 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III VXD G2 full-frame zoom lenses for Sony E mount cameras. Described by Tamron as a “travel zoom”, the 35-150mm f/2-2.8 is the first Sony E mount zoom lens that maxes out at an f/2 aperture....
The Profoto A1 speedlight we told you about a few days ago is now official. And yes, it’s just as expensive as we expected. At $995 buyers will have a pretty high level of expectation from this little flash. But it looks like it will stand up to the job just fine, and fits nicely into the existing Profoto ecosystem. It looks to be about what you’d expect from a speedlight made by Profoto....
