Rock en Seine is one of the main music festivals in France. This August, photographer Pierre-Louis Ferrer was invited to cover the 16th edition of the event. There was no dictated theme: the photographer had complete freedom to give his vision of the festival. He chose to stay true to his usual photographic style, so he shot the festival’s atmosphere in infrared. As a result, he created unique, funky, and even eerie festival images we don’t get to see every day....

I’m pretty sure all of us have at least one old phone collecting dust in the depths of some drawer. And to be fair, it’s difficult to put it to good use. But Iranian photographer Alireza Rostami thought of something pretty cool to repurpose his broken old phone: he turned it into a film camera. You may already know Alireza. Comedian Tanya Hennessy might already be well known to some of you. She posted a video to Facebook last year, titled Things people say to Photographers, which proved rather popular. It particularly struck a chord with Australian photographer Karen Alsop. And when Tanya recently posted that she dreamed of being a princess, Karen was more than happy to help turn her dream into a reality. Karen specialises in creating fantasy. We’ve featured her work on DIYP before....

Advertisements This year, Karen and her team had a series of workshops in Australia to train volunteers for future projects. There were also several shoots in hospitals around the country. For the first time, the shoots were also held in the US. The project had a group from Idaho run Christmas Wish in November, and another group from New York had a shoot early December. The shoots were finished earlier this month....
