While geared more toward those on the other side of the camera, I thought this video I ran across over the weekend was worth sharing. It was posted to YouTube a while ago now, but in it, modelling scout Trudi Tapscott talks about some of the biggest mistakes that new and aspiring models make when starting their career. It’s an interesting insight for photographers, too, especially newer ones who might not be used to working with models or as part of a team....

I didn’t buy the Irix Blackstone 11mm f/4 because of its optical qualities even though they are more than satisfactory. Truth be told, I wanted to experience what it would be like to shoot ultra wide-angle (UWA) for the sheer fun of it. There are plenty of reviews for this lens, so this article has a different aim. I will share some images and a few words on how it feels to use the lens....

The Godox ML60 is an interesting little light. I say little because it’s similar in size to the company’s AD300Pro strobe, which is really tiny. The ML60 isn’t a strobe, though. It’s a 60 Watt continuous LED light and it can be powered either from an AC adapter in the studio or a pair of NP-F style batteries out on location. For its size, it puts out a whole heck of a lot of light, and with the Godox S2 modifier, you can use it with Bowens S mount modifiers....

This would be absolutely amazing if it turns out to be true. Nikon have filed a couple of patents for hybrid viewfinders in the past, but eagle eyed Flickr user, Anankhepi believes it may be on the way. Two dark circles above the viewfinder in the leaked Nikon D850 photos are the clue. On first glance, one might simply believe them to be screw holes, but they don’t exist in any other camera in Nikon’s lineup....

Well, I think this quashes any idea that Panasonic was looking to compete with the Canon EOS RP, Nikon Z5 and whatever Sony has up their sleeve. Nokishita is reporting that the price for the upcoming Panasonic S5 will be $1,997.99 (or $2,297.99 for the S5 kit that includes a lens – although they haven’t stated which lens). They’ve also leaked the press text for the announcement, which states that the Panasonic S5 has been “designed especially for content creators”....
