Anyone who has read my posts (silence) haha, will know that I am a fan of planning and preparation. I have task sheets, folders, mood boards, sketches, and the list goes on. I always try to make sure that anything that needs planning is set in stone. Although this is usually the best way to work, especially for me, it can be good to go against the norm, and do the opposite....

A researcher has discovered an undocumented backdoor that allows a third person to access a camera, wiretap voice calls, and track your child’s location in real-time. According to Ars Technica, the problem was found in Xplora’s X4 smartwatch....
The Blackmagic Video Assist range of monitors has been a popular choice for many camera operators since the first versions were released. Now, Blackmagic has updated the Video Assist, with internal 12-bit BRAW recording in both 7″ and 5″ sizes. We caught up with Blackmagic at IBC 2019 to find out more about the capabilities of the new monitors. Both the 7 and 5-inch models have a pair of 12G SDI inputs to receive up to 4K DCI 60fps signals, as well as a pair of HDMI inputs also offering up to 4K/60p recording....

Scientists have developed a nanophotonic light field camera with extreme depth of field capabilities, based on the eye of the extinct trilobite, Dalmanitina socialis. Ask any palaeontology (or just about any 5 year old) and they will tell you that the trilobite was one of the first animals to develop complex eyes. Very complex it turns out....
Adobe has just revealed that Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) will be coming soon to Photoshop on the iPad. This is an exciting new addition for iPad users and will vastly improve on-the-go editing workflow for busy travelling photographers (ahem when we get busy travelling again!). Previously, the only way to work with raw images directly on the iPad was to use Lightroom, which worked but now with the new capabilities of ACR for iPad, it will streamline the raw to edited process....
